What is the Hardness Testing?

1. The hardness test is the most widely used test for evaluating the mechanical properties of metals. Our inspection team trained in hardness testing, and can producing immediate results without damage to the parts, testing parts include track shoe, track roller, top roller, idler and sprocket. The purpose of the hardness test is to determine the suitability of a material for a given application, conformance to a specification, standard, or particular treatment to which the material has been subjected (heat treatment, thermal process).

2. Usually there are 4 different Methods of Hardness Testing as below:

Rockwell Hardness Testing--indentation depth or unrecovered indentation

Brinell Hardness Testing--area of indentation

Knoop Hardness Testing--area of indentation

Vickers Hardness Testing--area of indentation

Rockwell testing is the most commonly used method by virtue of the quick results generated, and it is typically used on metals and alloys.
